OUR MISSION

DIAFIR has been established in June 2011 by an interdisciplinary team of researchers and engineers, in order to bring to market more than 10 years of research made by Rennes 1 university.

Its mission it to promote innovative systems based upon special glasses, known as “chalcogenide glasses”.

These glasses have interesting properties for infrared light optics for instance. They can be used to make unique biosensors that allow faster and less invasive diagnostic procedures, for chronic and infectious diseases, as well as tumor detection.

DIAFIR testing offers a better care to the patient, saving him lesions and/or hospital stay generated by invasive or time consuming procedures. It helps physician to get easily a more accurate diagnosis.
